These routes are designed for independent cycling trips and short bike adventures, combining scenic roads, quiet countryside, coastal stretches, and authentic villages – simple, flexible journeys that can serve as a starting point for planning your cycling vacation in Andalusia.
Benaque and Vallejos

This cycling route is a relaxed one-day option from Málaga, starting with an easy ride along the coast before heading inland towards quieter rural areas and traditional white villages.
Casabermeja

A pleasant loop with long, steady climbs that leads to the nearest inland town north of Málaga and will be enjoyed both by riders who are used to climbing and by those looking to experience longer ascents at an accessible pace. Open views appear along much of the route.
Benamocarra

El Chorro & Caminito del Rey
3-Day cycling journey between the mountains of Málaga and Granada
This multi-day cycling route leads from the coast west of Málaga toward the limestone landscapes of El Chorro and the quiet lake region around Ardales. Along the way, it passes a sequence of natural and cultural highlights, as well as several characteristic Andalusian villages.
The route offers multiple overnight options and several short extensions, making it flexible and easy to adapt to your preferred rhythm for a relaxed multi-day cycling journey in inland Málaga.
Villanueva & El Torcal
2-day cycling route with an optional extention
This cycling route leads from Málaga into the northern inland foothills, with the limestone landscapes of El Torcal de Antequera as the main highlight of the journey. The road itself is highly scenic, following mountain terrain shaped by river valleys and Casasola Lake and quiet rural roads before climbing toward the Sierra del Torcal.
The route is designed to include time off the bike, with a walking visit inside the natural park El Torcal to explore its extraordinary limestone formations.
Sierra de Tejeda
3-day cycling journey аround the Natural Park Sierra de Tejeda
This three-day cycling route crosses the landscapes of Málaga and Granada provinces and circles the Sierra de Tejeda – the mountain range that forms a natural link between the two regions. Along the way, the route passes through open countryside, scenic mountain villages and memorable highland landscapes. The return section leads back along the coast via the Carretera del Mediterráneo, offering a contrasting seaside experience and the opportunity to explore several coastal points of interest.
It’s a varied three-day loop for cyclists who enjoy a mix of culture, mountain landscapes and coastal atmosphere during a cycling vacation or a lightweight bikepacking trip in Andalusia.
Mijas
2-Day cycling trip from Málaga to Mijas, with an optional challenging section
A two-day cycling route from Málaga to Mijas Pueblo, combining coastal sections, nearby towns and the first slopes of the Sierra de Mijas. The journey continues through several cultural spots along the way, and the route naturally leads to an overnight stay in one of the most iconic white villages of inland Andalusia.
It’s a nice two-day option for a short bike trip in the Málaga region that brings together coast, mountains and local history.
Comares
2-day cycling route to the white village of Comares
A quite demanding but very picturesque two-day cycling route starts from the Mediterranean coast and climbs gradually into the mountain landscapes of the Axarquía, with Comares as its natural focal point – one of the most striking white villages in Málaga province, perched high on a rocky hilltop and especially memorable to reach by bike.
The cycling tour combines nice climbs, beautiful landscapes and scenic towns along the route. The journey finishes with a long, beautiful descent through the pine forests of the Montes de Málaga, providing a calm and rewarding close to the route.
Marbella & Puerto Banus
2-Day bikepacking journey to Marbella – Luxury coastline and beaches
A two-day cycling route heading to Marbella along quiet inland roads and small white villages, with an overnight stay in the city and an optional extension to Puerto Banús. The route passes through the inland mountain areas of Andalusia, with characteristic landscapes and small fragments of everyday local life along the way.
This short cycling escape can be a great option for travellers who want to combine a visit to this emblematic coastal town with a bike journey and a relaxed introduction to the surrounding region.
Zafarraya – Alfarnate – Riogordo
2-day cycling route along mountain landscapes and white villages
A two-day cycling route from Málaga into the inland highlands of Axarquía and the eastern part of Málaga province, combining short coastal sections with subtropical farmland, distinctive mountain formations, and several traditional white villages along the way. Despite all this, the route is mainly focused on the mountain landscape.
It is characterised by clear transitions between different environments, moving from the shoreline to open high valleys and forested mountain slopes. Toward the end of the trip, the route continues through the pine forests of the Montes de Málaga, finishing with a long, steady descent before cycling back into the city.
Nerja & Frigiliana
2-day Cycling Route along the East Coast of Málaga
A mostly flat coastal cycling route from Málaga to Nerja, following the quieter eastern coastline of the province, known as the Costa Tropical. The route passes small seaside towns, calmer coastal stretches, and includes an optional inland extension to Frigiliana and the Nerja Caves, combining coastline, local culture, and Andalusian inland scenery.
It’s an ideal option for travellers who want a short and scenic cycling trip from Málaga, without steep climbs, enjoying sea views along most of the route.
MTB Fuente Climb Easy

This is a mountain bike version of the highclimb up to Fuente de la Reina, which is highly appreciated by connoisseurs of the region as well as road bikers. The route will lead you to beautiful and wide gravel roads, far away from traffic and the noisy city. You will be guided across the Montes de Malaga pine forests, along old ruins and into amazing viewing areas.
MTB Fuente Climb Pro
53km 1378hm
A more demanding MTB version of the well-known Fuente Highclimb. This route offers a higher level of challenge and more technical sections.
MTB Montes de Malaga via Boticario
24km 475hm
This is one of the main mountain bike trails close to Malaga. It is a 25 km roundtrip, starting in Malaga city center. After leaving the city on asphalt, you will go off road in Parque Natural Montes de Malaga, then after climbing the hills, the asphalt road will take you back to the city. It is a good trip if you would like to do some mountain biking and just to get away from the city for a time.
